Subject: DML: Read this spark plug? a question back

I haven't done a compression test yet but I need to.
When I swapped the motor in last year I had some idle
surging and backfire problems and this #7 plug looked
a little different than the others after a couple
hundred miles on it. I did swap injectors around back
then with no change. So I'm now inclined to think
there is something wrong with that cylinder... valve
seals, rings... SOMETHING is screwed up. I'm also
using quite a bit of oil. Runs great though.... go
figure.
