On the exhaust pipe they welded a 3" collector plate with a cover. When
you take the 3 bolts off you have a straight pipe. It dumps the exhaust
right under the rear seat on my truck. When you put the collector plate
and gasket back on your running your street pipes. The other one was an
electric version so you don't have to climb under the truck every time
you open the exhaust dump. Easy way to go from legal to wide open and
back for small money.

What exactly is the purpose of an exhaust dump or cut out?
