Heck, I was going to try to help you do it, but I live in Atlanta and
that is a bit far to get together. Yes, you do time the engine when you
replace the chain but it is well spelled out in your FSM. I would buy
the Edelbrock set from Bernd at Speedtweaks, comes with the gears and
chain and you will never replace them again.
