idle question..

3.9v6 4x2 with 46,000 miles in it

got out of work today, and started the truck..
after runing idle for about 2min it would sound like a person does when
caughing with their mouth closed.. 4-5 times and i noticed the RPM's would
dip down a line (125rpm) and then jump back up..

the engine was running real rough..

any ideas what this could be ??

new plugs or something needed ??
