Well, I might as well get this out of the way...

I took the Ram through the mud pit, it dropped down into a hole, sucked
water into the engine and instantly hydrolocked it. We sucked maybe 12-16
ounces of water out through the spark plug holes, and there is water sitting
down in the intake too. Plus, I snapped off the #7 spark plug in the head
while trying to remove it, the driver's side plugs were a REAL BEAR to
remove, and this one came apart - it split in half and the core came out
leaving the rest sitting in the head. You can look down into it and see
the back side of the electrode. :-( I was planning to just suck the
water out, R&R the intake, change the oil and give it a try but I think
I'll take it to the dealer - I really don't have the time to mess with
this right now!

So, I'm not sure if it cracked a piston or bent a rod yet. I'll wait
to hear the verdict from the dealer and decide what to do. Just in case,
I've already checked prices on rebuilt motors. Looks like I can get a
long block 360 from http://www.dodge-chrysler-auto-truck-engines.com/ for
about $1500-1800 with a 7/70,000 warranty; anyone have any other places
to look? I thought as long as I am replacing it I might as well upgrade
to the 360. Only problem is that in '92, there WAS no Magnum 360, so I
will probably have to use my 318 computer, unless a '93 will work? Anyone
have any experience in that area?

The *really* annoying part about the whole thing is that if I had just
remembered to take 5 seconds to remove the air intake tube, this never
would have happened. :-(

  Argh.
