I worked as a Dodge/Nissan tech for 14 years at a local dealer and the
Chrysler
warranty rep considered 1qt/1000 miles +ACI-within factory tolerances+ACI- If the
vehicle used more than 1qt/1000 they would repair the engine under warranty.

I wouldn't expect Chrysler to do anything about it, unless you can get the
dealer to +ACI-mis-document the usage+ACI-

I just bought my 2001 Dakota QC with 19000K miles 3 weeks ago, traded my 97
CC 5.2 4X4. I immediately changed the oil to Castrol Syntec 5W-50 w/K+ACY-N oil
filter, after 750 miles I have no oil usage.

What oil are you using?

Subject: DML: 1 quart of oil in 2000 miles

+AD4-
+AD4- I have a 2001 4.7 quad. Just checked the oil and it lost 1 quart in about
+AD4- 2000 miles.
+AD4- I know I put 6 quarts so don't ask, :)
+AD4-
+AD4- When i purchased the truck used i noticed the oil was down about a quart
but
+AD4- chalked it up to the ford dealer not knowing about the 4.7 using 6 quarts,
+AD4-
+AD4- Called dodge, they said they will look at it but it may fall within dodges
+AD4- tolerances.
+AD4-
+AD4- Doesn't anyone know what dodge thinks is exceptable for oil usage?
+AD4-
+AD4-
