This is what happend:
I was coming out of a toll on the freeway, accelerating to about 65 under
light throttle, when i look down and find my brake and abs lights on. I do a
quick look-see thru the guages and find temp, oil pressure, voltage, all ok.
Thats when i notice my speedo is reading 0! The speedometer hasnt moved from
0 since i first saw it at the bottom.
Second thing: driving thru traffic home, i noticed the tranny was clunking
under low speeds with part throttle. I realized that the engine rpms were
coming down to idle (650rpms) while rolling at about 35mph in Drive. So
whenever i was driving with my foot off the gas, the engine would drop to
idle and i then i would hit the gas again and it "clunks". too weird.
Shifting is ok, engine power is ok. No strange noises, no funny odors, all
fluids are full, no leaks spotted, no check engine light or other lights
illuminated. belt, wires (from what i could see) all look ok. Braking sems
fine as well, altough i havent tested it under heavy deceleration.
Im gonna take a wild guess and say its the PCM. I did a reset (disconnect
neg batter terminal) but that didnt help.
any ideas? tomorrow im gonna drop by the dealer and see what they say, but
im dreading it since im outta warrenty.
