Actual times for the 0-60MPH was 5.9 seconds (averaged low and high).

The weight of the Neon is a lot lighter than the WRX. The Neon pushes a
225HP and 230lbs of Torque. The WRX is an upside down motor. More rev less
torques factor. The torque is the driving force in getting the car
off-line. However, a wheel spin is a problem with front drive only vice
AWD. Yet, the WRX will lose a lot more real HP/TQ due to drive train
exchange from engine to wheels.

Therefore, the Neon for 20K is a better deal. It will be release to the
dealership in December period. There is talk about adding more power for
the 2005 version now to compete with the new Focus WRC model.

I'm not one to read the SCC mag, but i have a pretty seriuos problem
believing that the Neon beat the WRX. First off, the Rex has 227 ponies,
and i think the Neon was going to be around 180ish correct??

Even more troublesome is the fact that the Rex has AWD, and this system
launches the car HARD and very, very fast.

Other than that, i can't really coment as i haven't read the article.
I don't suppose that you have a link to the article Punch??
