I bought the K&N cold air induction system; it was a bit expensive but
worth it. I came as a complete kit including heat shield and good
instructions. It has a Carb Number and since then I have passed my smog
inspection (no small feat here in Southern Cal). I'm happy with the
install and performance, good kit.

FWIW, when I checked into this one, they informed me that it did NOT
have
CARB approval. Since I live in the Golden State, that nixed it off my
list.

I'd be curious how it works, is there an improvement worthy of the
$160. I've been debating the K&N vs a cheaper/custom setup that could
be
easily removed at smog time.
