Subject: DML: I'm Back! --> Help! Brake Failure!!
Hey everyone... missed being on the list as things got out of control, and
I've not been online in months due to traveling for work and whatnot.
I have a question for anyone that thinks they might have a solution....
lately, my breaks have been abnormally soft and sluggish to stop. The past
two days, it's taken on average, 40-60ft to come to a complete stop after
depressing the break pedal. I've changed the front brake pads - worn
unevenly (puzzlement there) - and turned the front rotors down. Some
positive change, though I'm still having the sudden failure moments of the
60ft stops. When it fails, I need to pump the breaks to get any response -
the fluid levels are normal, and there are no visible leaks in the system.
I've just started school for diesel mechanics, and oddly enough, we are
doing
breaks. No one seems to be able to tell what is wrong, though I'm thinking
perhaps it is the master cylinder going on me? The lack of fluid loss has
me
puzzled. Thanks for any help!

PS - Jon, I don't know if I missed it since I was out of the loop for so
long, but I'd love to stick my truck up for consideration in the
calender....
if you could send me any info if I can still get in on it that would be
great. If not, I'm still planning on buying one.. or two ;o)
PSS - Andy, I can't believe you wrecked the Dak! May your truck's bruises
heal quickly :o)
