Hello fellow 4xDAKOTAx4 drivers!

Little long winded, but home some will read it.

First time on list and I hope I can find some good useful info..

I am on my second Dakota. My first one I bought brand new in '91, 4 banger,
5 speed beat the truck to death and put over 275,000 miles on it. I even
once hauled a '73 Cuda with a HEMI in it through the mountains of California
@ 70mph in 3rd gear!! drove it for 3 more years until I seen this beauty of
a 4x4 Dakota ('95 square nose still) sitting at a dealer. Painted my '91 got
$2900 out of it in '00 (almsot 10years old..)

Anyway.. I picked up the '95 for dirt cheap with getting almost 3g's for my
'91 but had troubles with it.. someone didn't take care of the Mopar
heart.. and she choked after about 3 months of having her(course I helped,
I'm no ninny to my trucks). Seems oil pan had some gunk in it, plugged oil
filter... ruining motor (cranks, bearing journals etc..) Took it straight
to Dodge and said fix it(same place I bought my '91)

Month later I get a call after driving a sh*t taurus lot thing... ".. none
of the factory or after market cranks will fit...." ?

So here comes the 3 g's. Got a Marshall reman for aroun $900 with 3 year
100,000 mile warranty (versus factories $1,400 for a 3 36,000). This is of
course on a 3.9 liter V6 and wound up witha ll labor in it $3g.

Now that shes running tip top and Im not paying for the new motor its time
to piddle..

I know the 3"/4" lift kit is $1300.. no biggie, I can by-pass that and go
with just a body lift to get some real tires in it... Tires I want are
35x12.5x15 ( I am planning on changing gears to 410's if they'll fit
otherwise 391 or 392, whichever I can get to work properly.)

The main thing is rims/wheels.. I can not find anything other than 15x8 in
the 6x4.5(114mm or so) pattern. Can anyone lead me to someplace that may
help. I have checked more sites then I care to list.. but major wheel
distribs like Alcoa, Centerline U.S. Wheels Eagle Alloys and even American
Racing...
I dont care if they are beadlocks steel or alloy. as long as they dont look
like some lowered-down-waste of a pickup, I'll be happy. I dont need
chrome, machined are fine.

I really like the steel ones that were on my '91(enough I put them on my
'95with 31x10.5x15) but wish I could get them widened.. have seen some sites
that talked about this.. any experiences with them..?

My biggest thing is positive offset(wheel hanging from under truck) so I can
sling more mud!! 15x8 would work if I could get a 2" + offset. Any
suggestions are welcome. Main reason for wider is sand and mud where I
play... sometimes pea gravel.

Next mod other than lift and wheels is a 318/360 out of a newer 4x4 or an
R/T.

Thanks,

Bill Day
