While I don't speak for others I know in my case I had a ball jt fail @
45k mi on a 2k 2WD very likely because it was poorly (insuficiently)
lubricated by the vendor that made it for Chrysler. And being sealed of
course there was no remedy. Same one also had its dust seal fracture
allowing water and foreign matter to enter and speed up the death of the ball
jt. If yours are in good condition and you are doing off-road driving I
would guess that you are among the lucky minority. I think that both my
tierod ends are next to go as they are quite slack now. The design of the
suspension arms moreover is poor in that the upper and lower ball jts are not
removable. They're riveted to the arms requiring replacement of the entire
arm when one ball fails. I continue to feel that had these still been fitted
with zerk fittings allowing for periodic proper lubrication to be added many
would not have failed as they have
