You may want to ask the folks at APS Precision on that one as well.

Subject: DML: Torque Converter Question

I'm pretty sure the torque converters in both of my Dakota's a-500
trannys - are not long for this world. (due to the sickening buzzing
that comes from them)

Question:

If the torque converter is fouled up (keep in mind I'm not very
knowledgeable on them - I have just a basic understanding) is there an

chance that the converter can generate metal particles/flecks - that
could take out the rest of the trans? I hate hate hate the A-500 - and
plan on replacing it some day with something a little more bullet proof,

but I need it to last for now.
