Not really... The only problem with that is if you have to get
inside the intake for any reason (for example, you hydrolocked your engine
in a mud pit and need to clean the dirt and water out), then you're kinda
limited in that the only access to the plenum is through the throttle body
bores. (Of course, you could always cut an access hole in the plate, and
weld it back up when your done.) But, if you don't think you will ever
need to get back inside the intake manifold, then I can't really think
of a good reason not to weld it up.
