The HEMI was a 426, with a possible stroker, that was a
first unit car that primarily used for close-up shots, it was a full-on show
car that was not used in stunt filming.
The car used for the race scene was a fully preped stunt car with a very
intricate roll cage and driveline that used a
440 RB engine, A727 trans and a 8-3/4 rear.
The earlier 392 HEMI's will not bolt in to the chassis of a
of a B-body Mopar of that vintage.
