the coil had gone bad? At this point, I'm willing to check anything if I

Aaron,
I had a similar problem with my Dak several months ago. Mine was kind of a
ghost to chase down, as it was not throwing any codes to the Dak, and it
wasn't throwing any to the computer at Dayton/Andrews Chrysler either! It
ended up being the connection to the bottom of the coil. Once the wires
were re-spliced to the connector, the problem went away. Just throwing an
idea out to you... believe me, I feel your pain! Keep us posted on your
progress.
