Heh heh heh! Yep! I wondered when someone was going to notice. :-)
I've got some pics and very basic info at http://jonsteiger.com/www/dakvert
Hopefully I will be able to submit some pics of it for the 2004 DML calendar.
Unfortunately, I bought it just as old man winter is settling in, but
I *did* get a good deal on it. :-) It should be a blast come summertime!
Its a premag 3.9 V6 with a NV2500 tranny. 8.25" rear end (I haven't
even checked yet to see what the gear ratio and diff type are.) Although
it has almost 160,000 miles it is in excellent condition. Looks like it
has had a relatively recent re-paint, but I didn't find any bondo, and its
straight. I wasn't planning on buying anything like this, but it just
popped up on a local used car lot, and the price was right. My Dad
kinda put it in perspective when he noted that I spent less on it than
his new ATV. Heh! I figure I won't lose any money on it, so I just
couldn't resist. It was making some pretty bad tranny noises in 1st,
2nd, and 3rd, although it did shift fine. The dealer thought it was a
throwout bearing. I don't know much about trannies, but I didn't think
so. He agreed to do whatever was necessary to get rid of the noise. Long
story short, its got a new (used) tranny it in. ;-) Plus, I asked him
for the old tranny which he gave me for $50. (Core charge on these seems
to be around $200-300). Just in case I ever decide it needs to be
matching numbers again. :-)
Now if only I could figure out how many white 2wd 5-speeds were made in
1990. :-)
