At my part-time job (a gas station,) there is a trucking company that my
boss lets use as a place for shipping orders and stuff to be distributed.
The owner of said trucking company was one of the coolest old guys I knew.
Extremely friendly, with more integrity than you could shake a stick at.
Plus, he had some awesome muscle trucks. No, they weren't Ma Mopar, but an
older Silverado 10 with a balanced Chev 454 pushing about 500 horse isn't
too bad. Or his daily driver, a black Silverado 10 with a 375 horse 350. I
never did learn the man's last name until just the other day, but Rod was
one of those characters that made the world a better place. Rod died of a
brain aneurysm on the 27th, and will be missed by all who knew him. His
obituary follows:

SNYDER _ Rodney Gordon, born January 28, 1943, passed away suddenly on
November 27, 2002. He is survived by his loving wife Sharon; his children,
Lori (Ben), Ken (Kim), Lana (Darcy), and David; his grandchildren, Melissa,
Desiree, Shaelynn, Larissa, Devanae, Danica and Breanne. He is also survived
by his parents, Ruth and Philip Snyder; his twin brother Doug (Dorothy); his
sister Jacqueline; his brother Ric (Karen); nieces and nephews. Rod was a
sensitive person with a very generous and caring nature. He was well known
in the Trucking Industry and was a force to be reckoned with. He will be
sadly missed by his family, many friends and acquaintances.
