Thanks for everyone that has replied. I guess I
should have included, the truck is a 98, 2WD, 318, 5
speed and not a CA model. I did not remove the cowl
completely to put the hose back on, but as far as I
could see, it has no wires attached and it does not
have any other hoses either. Being under the wiper
cowl, it is exposed to the elements. While the hose
was off (about 300 miles), there were no adverse
effects as the heat, defrost, windshield washers and
even the A/C all worked normally. Thanks again, Wayne
