In fact, BSA=Birmingham Small Arms, a rifle company.
Rickman built a wonderful frame for the British Bikes. Triumph is one
of the best handling bikes I ever owned but by far my favorite was a
Vincent Black Shadow, (I am a retired Harley mechanic)

I hate to disagree, but I must.
BSA was a British m/c builder, while Rickman was only a frame builder,
who
used BSA/Triumph/Norton engines and such. Rickman had a model with a
Triumph
engine called the Metisse. Might that be what you are thinking?
Montessa IIRC was a Spanish company.
BSA=Triumph=Norton. Later, NortonVilliersTriumph, aka NVT.
