first thing I would check is the steerign wheel position try turing it one
way or the other while attempting to turn the key..

second, remove the 2 bolts holding steering column under dash, drop it down
and check to if possibly the ignition switch slide on the column has moved
or jammed the lock cylinder(where the key goes in) rod that sits in the
slide ignition switch,

after that I might even say a new lock cylinder(or tumbler as some call it)
