Hi John
Even with your blazingly fast dialup you don't need to do an archive
search to know that you can retain your factory road light units and just
increase the foot candle output of the OE bulbs. I believe they are 37w.
bulbs are available with OE type mount in 50w, white or blue, and I think
upwards of 80w and maybe even 100w. The 80 obviously would double the light
intensity of OE. Do you live in a region with exceptionally dense night time
fog? Out here in California we have winter fogs of industrial strength and I
find the OE bulbs sufficient to give a good low level rather close up
lighting when coupled with headlight bulbs that just about double the OE
hadlight power. OE headlights are 50/55w I think and with 80/100 white bulbs
and stock fogs I find our fog vision to be greatly improved. Careful correct
aiming of both head and fog lites is imperative. Make certain both head and
fog units are right on correct aiming before you look for more potent bulb
outputs.
