Subject: Re: DML: RE: Auto Locks... & security system add on
My 99 came with the auto-lock enabled, and I have heard that for some
model years a key on/off sequence can toggle the feature.
Ahh, The mysterious little book of lost and forgotten lore, buried deep in
the dusty recesses of the glove . . . . Oh never mind.
For the '99 model year, referencing page #11.
"AUTOMATIC DOOR LOCKS
If this feature is selected, your door locks will lock automatically if the
speed is above 15 mph.
This option is shipped activated and can be turned on and off by using the
following procedure:
1. Close all of the doors.
2. Place the key in the ignition and cycle the key from the OFF position to
the ON position for a total of four times ending in the ON position, do not
start the engine.
3. Press the driver's side power door lock switch to lock the doors within
30 seconds.
4. You will hear a single chime when the programming is completed and the
automatic door locks feature will be deactivated.
5. To activate the feature again, follow the above steps again."
