Nice to see you've got so much insight to provide here. You can ignore
what I wrote and play "what if" all you want but here's what happened -
the the way the driver was driving caused the car to go out of control,
which caused the accident. Had he not been racing, he would not have
taken the action that caused his car to go out of control and then hit
the van.
