Not true. A m/c turns by a process called "countersteering". IOW, to turn
left, you push on the left grip, which moves the contact patch to the right,
therefore destablizing the bike, causing it to lean to the left. Once this
is done, the front wheel will point in direction of travel. And, that
happens only at speed. At walking speeds, you must turn the bars left to
turn left, and you may even want to lean the bike in the opposite direction
of the turn, allowing you to turn the front wheel even more.
