Front Bumper Replacement questions

I need to replace the front bumper on my 97 Dak. ( I'm a bad driver... )

I have a couple of questions.

1). Dodge Bumper = $320 or so. OEM bumper $100.
is the Dodge bumper worth $220 more than an OEM bumper?

ALL I care about is structure. I have a Xenon bumper cover
that will cover the bumper, so I don't really care what it
        looks like underneath the cover.

2). The Dodge Parts guy told me that the brackets that attach the
bumper bar to the truck only come with the bumper and
can't be bought separately. These are the squarish brackets
that bolt onto the bumper bar. I would have sworn/bet that
the last time I did this, I put on new bumper brackets and
kept the bumper. He says I could not have because they only
come with the bumper. Has anyone else been able to get replacement
brackets for this? Maybe I removed them, straitened them out and
        re-installed them. I don't think that I did....

3). There is a bracket ( different than #2 ) that attaches to the truck
frame with 3 bolts. The bolts are about 1" in length. There isn't
enough clearance with the radiator assembly to replace these
brackets. The bolts don't look like they are welded to the bracket,
but I can't figure out how to get them to release. The last time
I did this, I just straitened out the brackets with a crow bar.
They really need to be replaced now, but I don't want to remove
the radiator to get them replaced. Has anyone replaced these
'frame' brackets before? If so.. how?

any info would be appreciated.
