Ken, I just looked at my sticker on my 98 CC SLT 5.2, it weighs 5,920 lbs.
2 1/2 ton jack is not enough. My 3 1/2 struggles a little, but you must you
stronger stands too. 2 ton is only 4,000 lb.

Subject: DML: Floor Jack Question

Ok, so I picked up a 2 & 1/4 ton floor jack as well as some 2 ton jack
stands so I can work on my truck. Well, I cannot get the floor jack to
lift the load. It will lift up to the point of contact, and you can feel
some resistance as you should, but it won't lift after that. Release valve
is turned all the way clockwise. I tried releasing the air in the
hydraulics as the instructions say (twice actually), but still no go...
Anyone experience this and have some insight into this??? Thanks!
