The US entries, all except the last being victorious - defenders, in the
America's Cup sailing race seem like a listing of names used for the Star
Trek series. Any of these would be suitable for a spaceship worthy of
American pride.

1870-Magic, USA ; 1871-Columbia, USA; 1876-Madeline, USA; 1881-Mischief,
USA; 1885-Puritan, USA; 1886-Mayflower, USA; 1887-Volunteer, USA;
1893-Vigilant, USA; 1895-Defender, USA; 1899-Columbia, USA; 1901-Columbia,
USA; 1903-Reliance, USA; 1920-Resolute, USA; 1930-Enterprise, USA;
1934-Rainbow, USA; 1937-Ranger, USA; 1958-Columbia, USA; 1962-Weatherly,
USA; 1964-Constellation, USA; 1970-Intrepid, USA; 1974-Courageous, USA;
1977-Courageous, USA; 1980-Freedom, USA; 1983-Liberty, USA; 1987-Stars &
Stripes, USA.

My personal favorite is the beautiful wooden 12 - Metre "Courageous"

Very truly yours,

Iver Nielsen
