Thats worse than my gas cap mishap (hey that rhyms!)
I filled up back in Chicago around the 19th of January - and drove off
with the gas cap on top the pump. This jeep doesn't have a teathered
gas cap - duhhhhhh! Didn't discover that I lost the cap until I gassed
up again 3 days later - and 100+ miles north of Chicago on my way home
to Wisc. DOH!

I've never driven off leaving a gas cap before. (partly because my last
several sets of wheels had tethered caps)
