Re: Tranny Fluid and Filter change

I have a 2002 with the 4.7L auto in it. I believe
the tranny is the 45RSE. Murrays and autozone don't
carry any filters for this. The dealer wants $22 for
one and $38 for the second filter. Does anyone know
where to buy them cheaper?
Thanks,

Mike Burns

I would buy six just to be safe and have some for
topping up later. Should require one filter, right
there in your face when you get the pan off.DO get a
drain plug while you've got the pan off. They are
inexpensive (NAPA sells them for about $5) and will
save you a *lot* of mess at future fluid changes! Just
be careful about placement so the plug doesn't
interfere with any internals. I seal them up with a
little RTV when installed, just to absolutely stop any
seapage.KevinAt 10:16 AM 2/8/2003 -0500, you wrote:>98
