The 5.9 has a much better TQ curve. As far as "hype", be aware that any
Durango R/T built after October of 2000 will have a "standard" PCM,
while pre-10/00 R/Ts have the MP PCM. Aside from that, the only
difference between an R/T and an SLT+ is a suspension upgrade, muffler,
and R/T badging on the leather seats. R/Ts have FT4WD but that can be
had on an SLT+ too.

You'll pay a premium for the R/T. If you're going to equip it yourself,
you're probably better off starting with a nicely set up "regular" model
and then go from there.
