A bout of lube w/o friction modifier will certainly shorten the life
expectency while keeping things locked up in back most of the time, but it
shouldn't hurt too much if you catch it right away. If they put in too
much friction modifier, it'll render the LSD useless until the fluid is
drained and filled with the proper juice. There is a procedure in the FSM
for testing holding potential with a torque wrench at the wheel end. I'll
look it up after dinner.
As for filling it, they should have drained the fluid and refilled, then
driven a series of tight figure-8's (8-12 in each direction per the Mopar
book) to get it all worked into the clutch packs. If they didn't do this,
it could take a while in regular street driving to work it all in to the
point that you notice it.
