You also did an M1 recently.... right??? Check for leaks on the back near the distributor...
The oil pressure drop, WITH plenty of oil-- could be a sending unit-- also, you did mention during the motor backwards, and messing with the distributor some-- whichs brings up the question of the oil pump itself.
Loose rockers won't cause you to consume oil like that...
