Kyle, it was a pre-filter of sorts wrapped around the drop-in filter. I
don't know what years of Daks got this but since I bought my '92 new I was
aware of it. Most people probably trashed it at their first filter change.
I didn't wait that long once I saw the effect it had on performance. :-)
