Thank You very much for clearing that up. The Dodge dealer told me that
the 42RE, etc are newer models and are not the same as the 500 or 518. He
said that the 500 or 518 was the earlier OD tranny in the full size P/U. I
know the older trannys(904/727), but nothing about the O/D models. Thanks

I just installed a MP pan on my 42RE when I had my converter and shift kit
installed........
The 42RE is the A500, they are available thru Muscletrucks.net, very
reasonable in price too.
