Sigh....dynos, even chassis dynos, are merely tools in a controlled
environment. Real world results do not necessarily mimic dyno results.

And I'm not trashing 1.7 RR as I imagine they could be worth something on a
stock cam. Surely no harm in doing if one wishes to avoid the expense of a
cam change. They're one of the few things I haven't tried as I went
directly to a cam with more duration and lift than would be achieved by 1.7
rockers. Even that barely resulted in gains indicative of 12-18 HP.

Ever notice how most aftermarket parts are advertised as producing certain
HP gains without mentioning whether that was determined on a 318 or 360? In
reality, your results may vary based upon the size of your engine.

Bottom line is, as a consumer who has spent thousands of dollars trying to
have a faster truck, I would be more inclined to believe the results of an
experienced, and successful, racer with a truck that's faster than mine than
I would from someone's dyno results, manufacturer's claims, vendor claims,
butt dyno claims, and the "I can spin my tires farther now" crowd.
