All,
I got the nut today and tore into the job. All went well pulling the old
hub/bearing and installing the new hub/bearing and rotor/pads. However, on
the right side (side that didn't need bearing) replacing the rotor was a bit
puzzling. Seems that my truck has 1 piece hub and rotor, ie. They do NOT
come apart. So, I just put new pads on the right side and put it all back
together. The only thing I can think of, is that due to the DEC - 96 build
date, it was built with this setup. Any Gen II guys have 1 piece design??.
Anyway, something to consider for those doing this in the future. Also, a
36 mm axle nut socket did the trick. I couldn't break the nut loose with an
18" breaker bar, but my jack handle appended to this did the trick ;).
Thanks Again,
Jared
