Strange Noises - New Owner Paranoia

Howdy!

I've had my Dakota for just shy of a month and 1K miles. I've installed a
Line-X bed liner, a Saddleman Tonneau cover and a home-brew PVC/K&N intake.
And I still love the truck the more I drive it.. :)

But, one thing that has me a little worried is a noise I hear from the
engine. It sounds almost like the rockers are making noise or that there's
not enough oil in the engine - a clacking, butterfly-ish sound that's very
noticeable at idle and acceleration. I've checked, checked and re-checked
the oil level and it's AOK when cold and warm. Now, I haven't dealt with
piston powered engines in a while so I may just be hearing normal engine
noise, but this is fairly loud and I don't recall hearing it on the Loaner
Dak I had, but I wasn't listening for it either.

Something may have gotten sucked in from the intake install, but I've made
a few of those before and I'm sure I cleaned it up before installing.

So, any help/advice is greatly appreciated! Anyone in the Arlington VA area
that might want to meet up on their lunch break to take a listen? :)

Thanks!
