I also have a 2k dak that was getting this mysterious popping noise in the
front end... I took it in and the dealer went nuts, they replaced all sorts
of stuff, suspension bushings, cab bushings, and re-torqued the entire
front end. Still got the pop. So, I was changing out my front anti roll
bar, and noticed that the right side hub was oozing grease from around the
nut, but I had no play at all (hardly). I went ahead and ordered a new
bearing assy and the nut. I replaced the bearing last weekend and like
magic the noise went away. I don't want to spend your money, but you might
want to look into that possibility. I paid about $100 including tax from
koller dodge here in the chicagoland area. I hope this helps!
