That is interesting that you did that Doug, sorry but I do not have the
answer about the PPIII, but I am thinking of replacing my 318 with a crate
motor. I have looked at a 300 hp 360, but think I may want to go a little
larger than that. I have just started looking around.

Subject: DML: Power Programmer III

Hi guys,

I sent an email to Hypertech about this, but I know the DML will
probably give me an answer alot quicker than they can. Anyways....

I have a '99 Dakota that was originally equipped with the
5.2L/5-speed
setup. I've replaced the 5.2L (318) with a 5.9L (360) and all the
traditional "hop-ups" (i.e. cam, headers, intake, roller
rockers, thermostat, etc). Will the 50004 Power Programmer III work with
my truck? I read on their website that the PP-III reads the VIN stored
in the computer to determine which engine I have and uploads the
optimized program based on that. Is there a way I can tell it that I
have a 360 and not a 318? I need to tune the computer to work correctly
with the new engine.

Thanks!

Doug Myers
