Shocks should not afect ride heioght. They do not carry the weight of
the truck; the springs (in back, and up front on a 2WD) and torsion bars
(front of a 4WD) do.

Definitely go to the dealer. Do not mention the offroading. Just say
"the truck is lopsided" or something to that effect. Measurements may
help - do it on a flat & level surface and get a couple reference points
(top of tire to flare, bottom of open door to ground, bottom of a frame
member to the ground, etc.). We had this problem on our old '93 Chevy
conversion van. Don't recall what the solution was (if there was one).
