No start

If you got 12v at the starter, then your splice appears good. Have
someone turn the key to start while you check the smaller wire on the
starter. It should go from 0 volts without the key turned to start to
12V when the key is turned all the way. This is showing that the
starter has everything it needs to crank the engine. If you got 12v at
the small wire too, whack the starter with a hammer with the key held in
start, but stay clear from the motor, cause it just may crank over. If
you dont have 12v at the small wire, you are not getting power from the
ignition switch, and you need to back track with a schematic and start
checking for voltage.
