Dude, aren't you still running your stock wires/plugs/cap/rotor??? I'd
start there...
You can put a nice ignition on your truck for pretty cheap, and that in
conjunction with some phatty wires/plugs and a nice brass contact cap/rotor
you will notice a difference.

I was toying with getting rid of my cold air tube this summer in favor of
"something new" and as yet undiscolsed to the public....if you want it when
financially possible that I take it off, just let me know.
