Well, I made it to the track today, and set a new personal best ET for
myself!!! My first run was my best run, then they got worse, then my truck
died on me :(. I ran a 17.289 @ 77.88 MPH, compared to my previous best of
17.328 @ 77.98 MPH. Hey, i'll take another .039 off my ET!!
It was a beautifull day to go racing, but unfortanatly things didn't turn
out the way I had hoped. After the 5th run, I went into the pits and shut
the truck down so I could take a potty break. But when I returned to the
truck to get back in the staging lanes, the truck wouldn't start. I let it
cool down then played with it for a half an hour, but still not starting.
Finally I called my freind Chad Evans, and he drove over to help me out.
His troubleshooting was dead on. We found out that my ignition coil and the
Accell box were the culprits. Being the moron that I am, I took my toolbox
out of the bed to save weight.....which had my stock coil in it. So we
drove into town, got a new coil, then went back to the track to put the new
coil in. We put the coil in, bypassing the Accell box, and she fired right
up!!
YOU DA MAN CHAD!!!!!
Oh, if your ever in a bind and need a coil for a gen3.... a 96 coil will
work with the Accell coil adapter.
So annyway, I am hoping now that I have a good coil I'll be able to set
another personal best next time.
