A dying battery will cause your truck to run exactly as you described. My
98 3.9 did the exact same thing. The PCM in our trucks is very picky about
voltages, get it just a hair low on the battery and it really wants to act
up bad. Take the battery to a shop that can load test it and I believe
you'll find it to be headed for the battery warehouse in the sky.
