I have some questions about my Shelby Dakota. Since I have bought it in
March and tuned it and put a new tranny with high stall converter I have
noticed it is rather quick. It not only accelerates to 60 quicker than my
15.7 1/4 mile Neon but it also took out a somewhat modified 350 Chevy full
size truck rather easily. I bought it off of a dealer who took it as a
trade. Here is what I have noticed. The prior owner has replaced the coil
and is running an open 14 inch air cleaner. I examined the exhaust and
discovered it had true duals. Has stock manifolds but they empty into their
own down pipes that flow through their own cats and mufflers. I have driven
a 91 Dakota with a TBI 318 and it was not as quick. Also when I pulled the
plugs they were perfect. No oil no nothing on a 111,000 mile engine
(supposedly) my cylinder compression reads from 158 to 162. Something seems
surprisingly good.
