The rubicon is a very capable vehicle; but the main thing I hear in the Jeep
circles is that you can build a better Jeep for less. If they still have
thier Wrangler X model.. that looks like the best to start with.. The
Rubicon is WAY overpriced.
Just get a 4.0, 5spd, the tallest gears available, and whatever little
options you may want AC etc.
Then add a set of front & rear air or electronic lockers, a 4-6 inch lift, a
set of 35's.. bumpers & winch. and you'll go more places than a Rubicon for
less money.
I have a friend that was getting ready to trade in his 2.5L Wrangler on a
Rubicon he'd special ordered in.. and the more he thought about it while he
waited its arrival.. He decided he'll just order what he needs to upgrade
his, and swap in a 5.2L later
