Optima's are pretty much what they claim to be, they can be mounted in
any position, won't leak like traditional lead/acid-plate batts...
(optimas are spirial cell paste) If you want it just as a starting
battery - dont have lots of power sucking lights, stereo equipment,
winches etc... a Red Top Starting Optima will be fine. You can get them
in varying CA/CCA - I forget the exact rate on my Optima, but its just
under 1000 CA - if you do have a higher-than-normal electrical drain,
you would want an Optima Yellow Top Deep Cycle battery. They are
designed for multiple heavy discharge/recharge cycles, red tops will
have a better life than a normal battery - but under heavy frequent
loads and frequent discharging on a non-deepcycle battery, a standard
starting battery will have a decreased life.
