A 180 will run at 185. Set the temp turn-on setting at 180 and
everything will run fine.

Subject: DML: Engine Temprature

My 180 degree thermostat opens at 175 and my 185 on / 170 off fan
thermostsat
kick the Viper fan on at 177 degrees. These temps are according to the
scanner readings (and it's a brand new sensor). Since the thermostat
opens early
and the fan kicks on early, the coolant temp never exceeds 177 degrees
on an 80
degree night. During the day in 92 degree weather, it will climb to 185

degrees. These are all with the Viper fan on low. It gets a little
hotter when I
idle for a while.
I know there is an optimal operating temp. and if it doesn't reach it,
it
will stay in open/closed loop or something. Can someone explain that to
me
please?
Thanks,
James
