If it stays cold too long and can't get to the right temp for closed loop it
will set a code. Experienced that when I tried a 160 thermostat. It ran
slower at the track when the engine temp was below 175. I think you're ok
on this. My scanner also reads a lower temp (similar to yours) than my
digital temp gauge but it runs fine and sets no codes.
